Dustin Evans (2/5 stars, a week ago): Considering it seems that all the scrap yards are in-trustworthy I thought I had found a place I could trust. I was wrong. I had been taking scrap to this yard a handful of times and always felt I had been treated fairly until the last time I went in. I will preface this with this was on a Friday just before closing so I was trying to be quick so I didn’t keep the employees there past quitting time. However hers the problem. I took a smaller load of copper in that was separated into “Bare bright” and the rest was #2. I had it all in totes and as I would carry it in and set it on the scale the worker would open the tote looking inside and wait for me to carry the next one in. I happened to look at the computer screen after I set the last tote of Bare Bright down and noticed he had it qualified as #2 copper. I mentioned to him that he had it marked wrong. He pointed at 2 pieces of wire that had corrosion on them. They were right on top since I had thrown them into the tote just as I left my house. I asked if that was all of it?! He replied “yes”. So I pulled them out and he changed it to “Bare Bright”. I then went out to bring the #2 copper in as he dumped my totes into their bulk bin. We weighed the #2 copper I then loaded my totes up and went to the office to collect my money. As I drove down the road I started thinking the amount I received seemed low so I pulled over and started looking over the receipt. Sure enough the receipt showed that it was paid as it was all #2 copper! I’m not sure what happened or why but it’s not the first time I had been shorted by a scrap yard. The total amount was about $76 dollars. I realize it’s not a huge amount but it’s enough to keep me from ever going back.
