This is a busy place on Saturdays the cashier is friendly and helps you if you are a newcomer like me. I feel that they give a fair price for your metals although they don't give you a lot of information about their rates and about what weight your materials have. A quick receipt after weighing shows you a summary of the values not the weights I think? Then you sign a form which I probably should have read a little better and you get paid in cash.

So I went here a year ago and somehow my MAGNETIC BICYCLE isn't steel but aluminum? Excuse me aluminum isn't magnetic guys but NOBODY used a magnet to verify material so how can they be sure of what a material is if they NEVER check?

I have been doing business with Omar's for about a year and things have been ok until yesterday. I weigh my materials before going to scrap yards and my scale agrees nicely with Omar's. Yesterday I arrived with 26.75 lbs of cans. The old man (Omar) weighed my cans and wrote 13 lbs on the ticket. I told him that was wrong and that the total should be about 27 lbs. He showed me that the scale said 13 lbs as if that settled the matter. I told him I would not sell my cans with that reading. He then held up his finger as if to say wait a moment (I don't think he speaks English well). He removed all my cans from the scale and it read -12lbs. He zeroed the scale and my cans then weighed 25 lbs. He had to have known the first reading was wrong for that many cans and he also could have checked the zero rather than first trying to convince me that the 13lb reading was correct. I will never do business with him again.
