Mueller Pallets operates a free waste-wood drop-off site called Wood Hound at 46349 267th Street in Hartford, SD — half a mile west of the Sioux Falls Regional Sanitary Landfill. Homeowners, contractors, construction companies, tree-service providers, landfills, and waste-disposal companies can drop off waste wood at no cost (zero tipping fees). For larger projects such as storm clean-up or construction sites, Mueller Pallets can also arrange on-site pickup and grinding. All collected wood is recycled for clean, renewable energy. A free Wood Recycling Community Club membership is required before visiting; call (605) 368-2440 to sign up and get site access.

Great FREE way to get rid of all the branches that fall off my trees each year. And you know they're putting the wood to good use! I do recommend being careful on rainy days as the location can get a bit muddy but as this is a free drop off for branches this is a wonderful service for the city.

Great place to drop off tree's and branches been going there for 18 years and it's free !! Hope the city gives them a permit for there driveway at the new location soon. The City of Sioux Falls uses the dropoff site for there wood disposal.

Quick free and painless. Drive up anytime they're open and drop off your branches. Please note b employees try to keep the drop off areas in good condition. However they are driving heavy machinery over dirt and mud. The facility often has deep breaths and mud puddles. I've dropped off in a minivan before but I'm much happier wearing sturdy shoes and driving my husband's truck.
