METech Recycling runs its California plant at 6200 Engle Way in Gilroy, one of five R2v3 certified facilities the company operates across California, Colorado, Massachusetts, North Carolina and Utah. The work centers on business and institutional electronics: e-waste recycling, IT asset management with full testing before resale, and certified data destruction.
Hard drives get single, 3 or 7-pass software wipes to NIST SP800-88 and DoD 5220.22-M standards, and devices that fail to boot or mount are shredded in-house. Every wipe or destruction job produces a Certificate of Data Destruction. METech also takes solar panels, inverters and battery storage units from renewable energy sites, and holds ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certifications.
