Trash Transfer Station located at 1560 S. Happy Hollow Rd. in Fayetteville, AR, is open Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The facility accepts municipal waste from the public and private trash haulers, which is then taken to the Eco Vista Landfill in Tontitown. Upon arrival, vehicles are weighed at the scale house, trash is unloaded as directed, and vehicles are weighed again to determine disposal costs. A minimum charge applies, and payment can be made in cash, check, or approved charge accounts. The Recycling Drop-Off Sites at Happy Hollow Rd. and North Street accept materials such as aluminum cans, cardboard, glass bottles, mixed paper, plastic bottles, steel cans, and batteries, among others, but not hazardous waste or bulky items. The Compost and Mulch Facility at 1708 S. Armstrong Avenue in Fayetteville accepts yard waste from residents for free with proof of residency, and also offers compost and mulch for purchase. The Material Recovery Facility at 1520 S Happy Hollow Rd. operates Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., processing recyclable materials collected in Fayetteville.
