Home ReSource is a nonprofit community sustainability center and building materials reuse store located in Missoula, Montana. Since opening, they have become Western Montana's destination for affordable, reclaimed building materials, tools, hardware, appliances, furniture, and home décor items. This innovative organization operates at the intersection of environmental sustainability, workforce development, and community education, offering a unique triple-bottom-line approach to social change. Their expansive retail store features thousands of donated building materials including doors, windows, lumber, cabinets, fixtures, flooring, lighting, plumbing supplies, hardware, and architectural salvage items - all at fraction of retail prices. Home ReSource provides essential job training programs, teaching valuable skills in retail operations, warehouse management, customer service, and sustainable practices to community members facing employment barriers. Their educational programs include popular Fixit Clinics where residents can learn to repair household items instead of throwing them away, youth internship programs, workshops on sustainable living, and zero waste initiatives. They also operate a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection program, properly disposing of paints, chemicals, electronics, and other materials. The ReUse Rewards program allows shoppers to earn points on purchases and donations. Home ReSource accepts donations of reusable building materials, offering free pickup for large items and tax deduction receipts. They also provide professional deconstruction services, carefully dismantling structures to salvage materials rather than demolishing them. Located at 1515 Wyoming Street in Missoula, Home ReSource is open 7 days a week with extended hours to serve the community.
