The Hamburg Recycling Center is the Town of Lyme's single-stream drop-off at 213 Hamburg Road, behind the Lyme Firehouse. Residents put all accepted recyclables in the same bin without sorting, and a separate white bin marked Clothing Shoes & Linens takes textiles. The site is open Monday through Thursday from 8 to 2 and Friday through Sunday from 9 to 4. Household garbage and trash of any kind are refused, and residents hire a private trash hauler for it. Bulky landfill items go to the Lyme Transfer Station on Brush Hill Road, and household hazardous waste goes to RiverCOG collection events. The center is under 24/7 video surveillance, and leaving unrecyclable items behind brings substantial fines.
