About this center
The City of Fredericksburg runs its recycling center at 302 E. Ufer Street as a drive-through, with staff helping unload. It is open Tuesday through Saturday and closed Sunday, Monday, and holidays. Residents sort cardboard, chipboard, aluminum, tin cans, newspaper, magazines, office paper, and #1 and #2 plastics into marked containers along the drive-through. The center is not single stream, so only sorted material is accepted, with cardboard flattened and plastic bottles empty.
Commercial customers use a cardboard baler during business hours. Grass clippings and small yard waste go to the compost pile at the landfill or the dumpster at the center, and the city's chipper crew collects brush at the curb.

My wife who is pregnant and in her third trimester went to unload some boxes today. The manager who is clearly a garbage human being instructed the two fellas working not to help her unload. As a public utility this is completely unacceptable. On my way to speak to this “man.”

They take cardboard of any amount! The only place around that I know of that still takes cardboard. The staff are always nice and helpful with great customer service.

This place takes a limited number of items (no glass only plastic water bottles and very limited paper items).
