Fredericksburg Recycling Center
About This Center
The City of Fredericksburg's Recycling Center is a model for small cities, attracting visitors from other towns interested in starting their own centers. Citizens' recycling efforts are credited for the center's success. The center accepts various items beyond what visitors bring in, with a focus on yard waste diversion since a 1991 ordinance banned it from the landfill. Residents can utilize the chipper service for tree limbs and brush, with resulting chips available for free at the landfill for mulching purposes. Grass clippings and other yard waste can be mulched or brought to the compost pile at no charge. A dumpster at the recycling center is provided for those unable to drive to dispose of small yard waste like dead plants and weeds, with restrictions on what can be placed inside. No brush, trash, or plastic bags are allowed in the dumpster.

Caleb Hill (1/5 stars, 10 months ago): My wife who is pregnant and in her third trimester went to unload some boxes today. The manager who is clearly a garbage human being instructed the two fellas working not to help her unload. As a public utility this is completely unacceptable. On my way to speak to this “man.”
Byron and Lori Keiser
Byron and Lori Keiser (5/5 stars, a year ago): They take cardboard of any amount! The only place around that I know of that still takes cardboard. The staff are always nice and helpful with great customer service.
