Fayette County, Tx Recycle Center

The Fayette County Recycle Center is a county-run drop-off for household recyclables in La Grange, on Svoboda Lane. It is a self-serve site: residents sort their own materials into the marked bins, so it helps to separate items before you arrive. Staff do not unload for you and no equipment is available, so bring what you can handle by hand. The center accepts a range of paper, including newspaper, magazines, phone books, junk mail, office and shredded paper, and wrapping paper, along with cardboard that isn't waxed or plastic-coated. It also takes #1 and #2 plastic containers and glass bottles and jars in clear, green, or brown. On the metal side it accepts steel food cans, aluminum beverage cans, and general scrap metal such as aluminum, wire, old tin, and lawn mowers. Used motor oil, transmission fluid, and oil filters are accepted as well. A few things are not taken here: light bulbs and fluorescent tubes, plate glass, ceramics and porcelain, aerosol cans, and propane cylinders. The center is open Tuesday 7 AM to 5:30 PM, Wednesday through Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM, and Saturday 7 AM to 1 PM, and is closed Sunday and Monday. Questions can go to (979) 968-8446.
