The City of Green Recycling Center, located at 5383 Massillon Road, offers Green Residents the opportunity to drop off recyclable items and yard waste, requiring proof of residency. The center is closed on government holidays and operates on specific hours depending on the time of year: from January 1 to April 30, open on Tuesdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; from May 1 to November 30, open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and from December 1 to December 31, open on Tuesdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Accepted recyclables include yard waste like branches, brush, leaves, limbs, and grass clippings (which must be separated), as well as aluminum cans, scrap metal, paper, cardboard, glass, and plastic containers numbered 1 through 7. Green residents can also request free untreated mulch from the center. The center has specific holiday closures throughout the year, and it does not accept certain items like food waste, yard waste, ceramics, or hazardous waste containers. Additionally, the center provides information on curbside Christmas tree pick-up and alternative recycling locations for items like aluminum cans and paper. Special recycling events are also offered, such as household hazardous waste recycling and electronics recycling on specific dates.
