BottleDrop Express - Hillsboro
About This Center
Self-serve machines are temporarily unavailable at BottleDrop Redemption Centers in Eugene, with all individual container counts being done by Stream Count at the Bulk Count station. The drop door will be open for easy access. In Bend, limited parking is available due to construction. BottleDrop offers various redemption options, including self-serve returns for up to 350 empty containers per person per day, hand-counted returns at select locations for up to 50 containers per day, and the Green Bag Program where customers can drop full bags of containers for redemption at participating locations. Participants can receive refund value as cash or store credit, with the option to link their BottleDrop account to an Oregon College Savings Plan account. The system is highly effective, redeeming and recycling over two billion containers annually, contributing to keeping public spaces litter-free in Oregon. Visitors can also engage in bottle and can redemption, participate in the Green Bag Program, and utilize hand-count services at various locations across the state.

Nekilof - (1/5 stars, 3 years ago): This location is frequently stuffed to the brim with bags of cans for the Bottle Drop Plus program and the self service is almost always out of order. In May 2021 as an example of something broken both of the doors for the Bottle Drop plus were out of order and a hand written sign was on the doors just saying: Out of Order - Working on it. Very frequently when the doors are working for drop off you have to shove your can bags in there because it's so full. The Bottle Drop Plus doors are supposed to lock when they reach a certain capacity but these doors never lock unless there's something wrong with them. Case in point: right now (June 2021) one of the 2 Bottle Drop Plus scanners won't work - despite there being (for once) room inside the shack for the bottles. It seems like Bottle Drop doesn't care about this location otherwise the place wouldn't be so run down and neglected. I have called Bottle Drop Customer Service a few times and asked what's going on and I've received answers that don't make sense - like they have cameras inside this location to see when the bottles fill up and trucks frequently out there... but if that's the case why is this location almost always full and basic services not working? Funds also take days to appear on your Bottle Drop Plus account as they're counted in Beaverton or Portland. Definitely go to Beaverton's Bottle Drop if you can as that's a "main site" vs. a neglected satellite location where you risk having one or more of the services offered at this site being broken malfunctioning or full.

The room behind both doors for the bottle drop plus program was absolutely jam packed. We were somehow able to slip our allowed # of bags in but yikes! Another lady came by and said she's never seen it so full. She came by just last week and it was completely empty so I guess it's emptied occasionally??

Mike Orth (1/5 stars, 3 years ago): Same complaint as all the others below. Went in on Aug 14th 2021 and it was packed full...couldn't push bags in any further to add my 2. Went back again today Aug 18th and still packed full. At what point is this company going to look out for it's customers and start emptying this place multiple times a week. Yep I could spend more money on gas and drive to a further location but if that's what is going to be required I'll just stop using this service. They already get $2 from me for each bag so why should I have to spend more money to drive to a further location so they can still get their $2 per bag.
