About this center
American Allied Recycling buys non-ferrous scrap only, serving Polk, Orange, and Lake counties from its yard on Buff Avenue in Haines City. The buy list covers copper in bare bright, #1, #2, and Romex grades, aluminum sheet, siding, clips, cast, extrusions, and wheels, red and yellow brass, radiators, stainless steel, lead, lead-acid batteries, electric motors, and sealed AC compressors.
Retail sellers drive in, and staff help sort, unload, and weigh the load. Businesses set up an account and get containers dropped on site, from a pallet-size gaylord box up to a 40-yard roll-off, with swap-outs when full. Florida Statute 538.18 restricted metals require proof of ownership, and payment for them goes out by check mailed to the address on the seller's driver license.

The service from all the staff is excellent. When I go and I'm attended by the owner their scale matches my weight and everything is fine. Except when the other person at the register is there—their scale always shows a lower weight than what I weigh at home. So I won't be going to this place anymore because of this issue.
