This is a solid waste transfer station located on Lavelle Road in Alamogordo, offering services to city residents and small construction contractors. Operating hours are from 8:00 am to 4:45 pm, and the facility accepts a variety of items including anti-freeze, furniture, household appliances, household garbage, scrap metal, used motor oil, and yard waste. Commercial waste is also accepted, but no liquids, hazardous waste, or animal remains are allowed. Accepted items include appliances, cell phones and batteries, electronics, ink cartridges, motor oil, antifreeze, rechargeable tool batteries, scrap metal, vehicle batteries, and paint (in solid form only). Visitors are reminded that on days with high winds exceeding 30 mph, the center may close for safety reasons.
