The E-Waste Collective is a nonprofit environmental charity, run as the Computer & Technology Resource Center, and the Novato site was formerly the Marin Computer Resource Center. Drop-offs are free with no appointment, and donated e-waste qualifies for a tax deduction. The center also gives free computers to schools, nonprofits, and individuals through an application, and it takes volunteers. Anyone donating a 2020 or newer MacBook Pro or Air gets a free drive wipe, and the center now accepts floor model copiers, printers, and plotters. A second drop-off site operates in Berkeley.

Two Sundays 8:30 am to 1:30 pm and two Mondays 8:30 am to 12 pm each month
The Novato Sanitary District runs this household hazardous waste facility on Redwood Boulevard, open two Sundays and two Mondays a month on a posted yearly calendar that shifts around holidays. Residents drop off without an appointment, and every business must book by phone first. The facility takes aerosols, paints and stains, solvents, pesticides, motor oil and oil filters, household cleaners, fuels, batteries of all kinds, fluorescent tubes and bulbs, e-waste, televisions, small propane tanks, fire extinguishers, and sharps in approved containers. Medications go to the Novato Police Department instead, and washers, dryers, and other large appliances go through Recology pickup. Explosives, ammunition, radioactive waste, and treated wood waste are turned away.
