Mueller Pallets runs its Wood Hound waste wood drop-off a half mile west of the Sioux Falls Regional Sanitary Landfill, on the south side of 267th Street. Homeowners, contractors, construction companies, tree-service providers, landfills, and waste-disposal companies drop wood off with zero tipping fees, and the wood is recycled into renewable energy. Users join the company's Wood Recycling Community Club and call to gain access to the site before their first visit. For storm cleanup, construction sites, and municipal projects, Mueller sends crews to grind the wood on site. The parent business in Sioux Falls recycles or builds about 20,000 pallets a week and also sells mulch, livestock bedding, and woodchip fuel.
