A & M Metals is a family-owned scrap yard on W 5th Street in Santa Ana. The family business dates to 1952, and the Santa Ana facility opened in 2011. The yard buys aluminum, copper, brass, steel, stainless steel, insulated copper wire, radiators, and high-temperature alloys such as Inconel and Hastelloy, plus appliances and renovation scrap. Customers also redeem California CRV aluminum cans here. Sellers show a government photo ID for regulated materials such as copper, and staff inspect, sort, and weigh each load before paying. Pressurized tanks, sealed containers, and anything holding hazardous chemicals are turned away. A sister yard operates in Montebello, and the Santa Ana yard draws customers from across Orange County.

Recycle From Home picks up CRV containers from homes and offices. Ryan Bloom, Damion Hickman, and Ryan Hickman started it in 2020 as a CalRecycle pilot with Irvine. Vans collect pre-sorted loads for processing at the company facility. Headquarters are in Santa Ana, Orange, and Costa Mesa. Pickup covers Irvine, Corona, Orange, Rancho Santa Margarita, Riverside, Laguna Niguel, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Rossmoor, Midway City, Villa Park, and unincorporated Orange County. Paid items carry a CA CRV mark: aluminum cans, glass bottles including wine and liquor, plastic #1 through #7, and bi-metal cans. Milk, infant formula, medical food, and non-beverage containers are refused. One consumer is limited to 25 pounds of aluminum or plastic and 250 pounds of glass per day. Refunds go out electronically or by check within one business day. Free e-waste pickup is offered.

It depends on your state's bottle bill: most pay 5 or 10 cents per eligible container. Only containers sold in the state with the deposit marking qualify.
Most redemption centers ask you to separate by material (aluminum, plastic, glass) and sometimes by brand or distributor. Rinsed, uncrushed containers are processed fastest.
Some centers and retailers cap daily returns per person. Call ahead if you have a large load.
