Fertile Ground Cooperative is a worker-owned recycling and composting business headquartered on South Santa Fe Avenue in Oklahoma City. Its Moore program delivers a 96-gallon cart to households for mixed paper, aluminum and steel cans, plastics #1, #2, and #5, and cardboard, serviced every other week. Residents roll the cart out near the home by 7 am on service day, and glass recycling is an add-on. Crews haul the material to a local recycling center, where it is sorted and sold to manufacturers. The co-op also runs community food scrap drop-off bins. Free compost and recycling drop-off bins sit beside the parking lot at the Santa Fe Avenue site, open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and Saturday, 8 am to 1 pm.
