(847) 931-2900
Mon-Fri 6am-4pm; Sat 6am-12pm
Midwest Compost began as an IEPA-permitted yard waste facility, built by founder Charlie Murphy after more than 16 years in waste management to give landscapers, contractors, municipalities, and haulers a place to dispose of organic material. The Elgin yard at 1320 Spaulding Road has operated for more than 16 years, and second-generation leader Patrick Murphy now runs the business. Branches, leaves, grass, and other yard waste come in for disposal, and the company turns it into compost, topsoil, and mulch. The Elgin and West Chicago yards also sell sand, gravel, firewood, landscape fabric, and water softener salt, with pickup or delivery to suburbs from Wheaton and Algonquin to Schaumburg and Roselle.
