Parts Galore

11360 E 8 Mile Rd

313-245-2944

Parts Galore opened its self-service yard on East 8 Mile Road in 2005 and bills itself as Detroit's original and largest. Cars sit on stands in rows organized by manufacturer, customers bring their own tools and pull their own parts, and every part of a given type costs the same whatever the make or model. The yard hands out engine hoists and wheelbarrows free and sells tool sets to anyone who forgot theirs. Parts carry a 45-day exchange, with store credit rather than cash refunds. Jacks, torches, and grinders are banned, and entry closes 30 minutes before the yard does. Parts Galore also buys running and non-running cars when the seller holds the title, and it sells used tires, reconditioned batteries, and cheap used cars. It opens seven days a week.
