How to Recycle Plastic Clamshell Containers
Hinged produce, bakery, deli, and takeout packaging commonly made from PET, polypropylene, or polystyrene.
Quick answer
A recycling number does not guarantee that a plastic clamshell is accepted. Empty and dry it, remove film and absorbent pads, and put it in recycling only when your local program specifically accepts that container shape and resin.
