About this center
Woodbury's town transfer station and recycling center on Bacon Pond Road runs a pay-as-you-throw program for residents and taxpayers. Trash goes in orange Town of Woodbury bags and food scraps and other organics in green ones, sold at Town Hall, Public Works and two local retailers. A three-year permit sticker on the windshield gets a private vehicle through the gate, and stickers require proof of residency and the license plate number, with two per family.
The site is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and closes on holidays, and no full truck loads are taken after 3 PM. Materials arrive prepared, every load is subject to inspection, and residents check with the monitor before dropping anything other than household garbage. Small businesses get their own permits through Public Works.

Top of the line center running like a well-oiled machine. Glad to have the crew that’s there. Don’t trust the online hours they leave early. -Kohler

It's a dump! Pleasant staff who can direct and guide what goes where as needed. Pay attention to the signs and you should be fine. Larger items may incur a fee including mattresses televisions and air conditioners
