About This Center

Due to a mechanical issue, the Algona transfer station will be closed to the public on weekdays beginning April 8 for approximately two to four weeks, but will remain open on weekends. Visitors to the recycling center can find information on transfer stations, drop boxes, and the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill, as well as places that accept common materials for recycling, donation, or disposal. Services offered include waste prevention, resource recovery, and waste disposal programs. Arsenio N (5/5 stars, 3 years ago): I went here for the very first time on Wednesday morning at around 9:30 a.m. and there's two trucks ahead of me on the way out. If you go down the one road you'll eventually find a little parking lot if you keep bearing right and there you can recycle cardboard aluminum plastic scrap metal and textiles. The cardboard aluminum and glass recycling all goes into one bin so you don't need to presort - you can basically dump the contents of your recycling in here. Bring work gloves and good shoes as you'll be fearing your recycling from the vehicle to the bins. If you have a small collapsible hand truck or Dolly it could be handy if you don't happen to park very close by to the bins. All in all it was very chill experience and easy to do and a great location I always marvel at the beauty of Vashon Island no matter where I am.

When I asked for a reccomendation the ape on the phone just says "Nope" Call me old fashioned but....Im trying to give you my business lol not even a returned good morning? come on guys go outside.

Charlie Manfredi (2/5 stars, 4 years ago): Ordinarily a well run facility. The boss is cool. The lady that runs the kiosk is charming. The other day they closed with six cars in line and four already inside the facility gates and past the weigh in. If it's some silly union rule that they close and turn away people that's a shame. Today when I went back with my load from WEDNESDAY this is Friday they say lady remembered me wondering when it be back. She knew I was really irritated at the community inefficiency of turning people away like they did. Oh I did swear to call the supervisors supervisor but have yet to figure that out.
