Transfer Station Recycling Center
About This Center
The Clear Creek County Transfer Station and Recycling Center offers a wide range of services, including accepting household trash, construction debris, furniture, appliances, and other materials for a fee. The facility's Recycle Center collects glass bottles and jars, numbered 1-7 plastics, cardboard, paper, various metals, and cooking oil free of charge after meeting a $5.00 minimum charge per trip. Electronics recycling is available for items like old TVs, computers, batteries, and fluorescent bulbs for a fee. The facility also runs a successful recycling program for cardboard, glass, metal, paper, and plastic once the minimum charge is met. Visitors are reminded to clean and sort their recyclables properly. The center enforces specific guidelines such as removing doors from refrigerators and freezers, ensuring no food debris is present, and adhering to load criteria for branches and pine needles. The facility also offers a Fire Mitigation Program for residents, allowing discounted rates for tree branches and pine needles during specific months. Additionally, the Transfer Station is a PaintCare drop-off location, accepting paint, stain, and varnish year-round with a handling fee. Visitors are encouraged to check the website for detailed information on accepted items and fees.

Judy Gallaher (5/5 stars, 7 months ago): We have lived here for nearly 30 years. Thru the years we’ve seen our transfer station do incredible job in doing updates for all of our benefits! The staff works in all kinds of weather and do their best everyday. We are grateful that the transfer station survived in good times and bad! Without this center being available we’d be having to haul trash to another county at considerable cost.

Daniel Gallagher (2/5 stars, 11 months ago): Just don't interact with any of the staff. Drop your stuff off and go. The staff are surly miscontented and itchin' for a dispute. To be fair great service for the County but the staff are utterly miserable.

Josh Colgan (5/5 stars, 5 years ago): We take our trash and recycling here weekly. The employees are so friendly and helpful. Regardless of the weather they are always open when they say and I'm greeted with a smile as well as some great conversation. The transfer station was designed to keep bears and other critters from getting into things. It was designed well and this keeps it looking and smelling great!
