What are the transfer station's hours?
The facility is open Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7 am to 3 pm.
Do I need a permit to dispose of trash?
Yes. Residents must present either an annual permit (sticker) or a pre-paid punch card before disposing of household garbage. A valid ID proving Essex residency is also required. Annual permits cost $200 for residents and $150 for senior residents (65 and over). Punch cards allowing 10 bag disposals cost $30.

We drove over to the Essex hazardous waste facility from Killingworth and when we arrived at 1:15 PM on Saturday Oct. 3rd. the facility was closed. This is after we had checked Google that indicated that it would be open until 3 PM. Please correct the incorrect information provided on the Google site. Albert Karg

I'm certain it functions as expected. I note it's "very closed" on Wednesday not just "closed".
