The Rumpke Recycling & Resource Center

The Rumpke Recycling Resource Center in Columbus, Ohio, is the largest and most technologically advanced recycling facility in North America. This $100 million investment employs 60 people and features state-of-the-art equipment such as four ballistic separators, 19 optical scanners, and Artificial Intelligence technology. The facility processes 150,000-250,000 tons annually from nearly 50 Ohio counties at speeds of 60 tons per hour, with an expected recovery rate of 98%. Rumpke supplies recycling to manufacturers within a 250-mile radius, with 80% of materials going to Ohio companies. Visitors can schedule tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and there is an Education Floor with interactive exhibits and a tour platform. The facility also offers a Sample Station for recycling audits. Additionally, there is a Rumpke Gift Shop where visitors can purchase branded merchandise after the tour.
