SWACO - Household Hazardous Waste drop-off center. - Recycling Center in Columbus, OH

SWACO provides Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) disposal services for all Franklin County residents. Residents can bring accepted waste items for recycling and environmentally safe disposal to the HHW Facility located at 645 E. 8th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201. The facility is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM and the first Saturday of the month from 9 AM to 2 PM, closed on holidays. Unaccepted items include ammunition, appliances, asbestos, needles, pharmaceuticals, medical waste, spray foam insulation, cylinders, and tires. Accepted items for recycling include batteries, corrosives, e-cigarettes, fats, oils, greases, flammables, gasoline, kerosene, motor oil, paint, propane tanks, and more. The program is not offered to businesses, and they should contact EEI, Inc. for hazardous material disposal. Latex and water-based paints are not accepted in the free HHW program but can be disposed of for a fee through EEI, Inc. Paint hardeners can be used to solidify leftover latex paint for disposal with regular trash once dried.
