About This Center

The City of Pensacola has opened a new and improved recycling drop-off center on Summit Boulevard beside Fire Station 3, offering residents additional recycling opportunities. The center operates 24/7 and is monitored to prevent illegal dumping. Residents can dispose of items like aluminum, glass, plastic, cardboard, paper, and certain plastics, but should not bring styrofoam, electronics, ceramics, food waste, plastic bags, or hazardous materials. Cardboard must be broken down before being placed in designated containers. The center does not accept household garbage or yard waste. Whitney Baker (4/5 stars, 11 months ago): While I understand the discontinuation of curbside recycling presents a huge inconvenience to both the environment and residents I'm pleased the City has maintained a 24-hour recycling drop-off location. On occasion I've encountered limited availability of specific bins (cardboard only sometimes) and large amount of trash on the ground but it's infrequent. For those seeking a convenient alternative I highly recommend the City's monitored recycling center on North Palafox. While access is limited to Saturdays the staff are consistently professional courteous and helpful. The facility itself is clean and well-maintained fostering a safe and efficient recycling experience.

With our shopping habits changing and more cardboard boxes being shipped to our homes our city-supplied curbside recycling containers aren't always adequate. I appreciate having a conveniently located drop-off with 24-7 security cameras next door to an always-open fire station.
