Honest Scales Recycling has operated in Middlefield for more than 20 years, handling about 8 million pounds of material a year in Geauga County. The yard buys copper wire and tubing, aluminum cans and siding, brass, stainless steel, iron and steel beams, pipes, car parts, and lead, and it takes appliances, tools, and electronics. Certified scales weigh each load in front of the customer, who receives a weight ticket and a quote upfront, and payment is cash or check on site. The property also holds an auto wrecking yard, roll-off dumpsters, construction refuse recycling, e-waste recycling, and a treasure shop. The yard runs off-grid, so power outages do not close it. Hours run 7 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday and 7 AM to noon Saturday.
