Niagara Metals calls its Packard Road yard in Niagara Falls its 55-acre main scrap processing site and the headquarters of a company that has served Western New York and the Buffalo area since the 1890s. Customers drive onto the scale for a ticket, a yard inspector directs each load to its drop-off spot, and the truck weighs in again between material types. Payment comes at the front office, where valid ID is required for every transaction. Vehicles are scrapped on site once they are at least eight model years old with a lien-free New York State title. Town and state property such as fire hydrants, manhole covers, rail tracks, and shopping carts is refused, along with precious metals and mercury-type substances. Staff identify material and offload oversized pieces, and the yard works alongside parent company Triple M Metal. It opens Monday through Friday.
