Does Biloxi have curbside recycling?
Yes. Biloxi residents put recycling in the 35-gallon green HCUA cart and garbage in the 96-gallon brown cart. Waste Management collects both, and bagged garbage or recycling left outside the carts stays behind. A second cart costs $5.25 per month ($63 a year), billed by Waste Management; call 228-701-9086, option 1.
What can I put in my Biloxi recycling cart?
The green cart takes aluminum cans, plastic bottles and jugs rated #1 to #3, glass, flattened cardboard, clean pizza boxes, garden plastics, empty containers, and paper such as newspapers, magazines and phone books. Rinse aluminum, glass and plastic. Labels can stay on. Keep items loose in the cart and never bag them.
What is not accepted in Biloxi's green recycling cart?
HCUA refuses plastic bags, foam and Styrofoam containers, wire hangers, windows, mirrors, ceramic or Pyrex dishes, food waste, electronics, paint, pesticides, cleaners, waxed cardboard, needles and syringes, scrap metal and hazardous waste. The graphic on your cart lid shows the same list.
