Rhodes Auto S/S/S
401 West Tenth Street
Rhodes Auto S/S/S started in 1973 as an automotive repair and body business and became a full salvage operation in 1987. Founder Jim Rhodes still leads the Streator yard, and the stock runs to more than 4,000 automobiles, with new vehicles arriving daily. The yard sells late model parts, auto sales, and towing, and belongs to a nationwide network of auto recyclers that locates parts it does not stock. Membership in the Automotive Recyclers Association and the Illinois ATRI backs the business, and Rhodes is a past president of the latter. Delivery is free business to business within a 100 mile radius, with carriers arranged beyond that. The yard opens Monday through Friday 8 to 5.
