Newark Recycling Center
6 Albe Drive
Newark Recycling Center has bought scrap metal in Newark since 1993 and now processes about 12,000 tons of metal a year. The yard on Albe Drive is open to the public with no minimums, so a single pound is as welcome as a full truckload, and sellers are paid cash on the spot for aluminum, copper, brass, and steel, ferrous and non-ferrous. A street sweeper runs through the yard regularly to keep it clean. The company keeps its own roll-off trucks and delivers 30 yard dumpsters, 22 feet long, to customers with large quantities of metal. The yard refuses scrap containing oil or fuel, Freon, tires, concrete, televisions and monitors, and closed containers such as fuel tanks unless cut completely in half.
