Spokane County Regional Solid Waste North Transfer Station

The Spokane County Regional Solid Waste System provides self-haul disposal locations for trash, recycling, and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) drop-off at three different sites: The Spokane County North Transfer Station, The Spokane County Valley Transfer Station, and The City of Spokane's Waste to Energy Facility. The North and Valley Transfer Stations operate from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, with HHW collection available only on weekends. Accepted materials include household garbage, residential appliances (charged as trash), construction and demolition debris, tree trunks, prescription drugs, mattresses, tires (cut if over 36 inches), animal carcasses under 35 lbs, and more. The facilities do not accept commercial materials, unidentified items, or leaking containers. There are specific guidelines for paint disposal, with latex and oil-based paint accepted for recycling 7 days a week. The sites also have limitations on HHW drop-offs, such as a 5-gallon limit per material type per day and a total limit of 15 gallons combined per day. Visitors are advised to separate recyclable items before drop-off, and commercial accounts are available for businesses.
