About this center
SP Recycling is a scrap metal recycling and processing facility located in Jefferson, Louisiana, just outside New Orleans. This commercial recycling operation specializes in purchasing and processing various types of scrap metal from individuals, contractors, and businesses throughout the Greater New Orleans area. The facility operates as a scrap yard where customers can bring ferrous and non-ferrous metals to be weighed, evaluated, and purchased. SP Recycling serves as both a drop-off point for scrap metal recycling and a distribution center for processed recyclable materials. The facility is located in an industrial warehouse district near the Causeway, making it accessible from both Jefferson Parish and Orleans Parish. They process materials efficiently, with many customers reporting quick in-and-out service for scrap drop-offs. The facility features a scale system where trucks are weighed before and after unloading to determine the exact weight of materials. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with weekend closures. The staff provides assistance with the check-in and weighing process. Note that parking can be limited in the warehouse district, and customers should plan accordingly. Nearby amenities include truck stops within 2 miles for commercial drivers.

Stupid place to load at you can't go on the scale until it is your turn to load or unload. even just to get your weights first. Go check in they will tell you what truck you are behind and the once they are completely done you can go on the scale then back to the door assigned

I was in & out within 30/45 minutes. Wouldn't mind taking another load from here. No overnight parking persay . But you can make it work. It's in a warehouse district. And truck stop is 2 miles away. Lady at the clerk desk is very nice and will get you through the process real quick. Lovely people up there.

Exit 288 to the causeway then turn right onto Jefferson Highway. Turn left onto Saint George Avenue. Head to the shipper’s office to check in and then proceed from there.
