About this center

The City of Auburn's Recycling Drop-Off Center is a municipal facility open 24 hours a day, year round, operated by Auburn Environmental Services. Auburn became the first municipality in Alabama to offer curbside recycling in 1987, and established this drop-off center alongside a compost demonstration in 1999 so residents can recycle at any time. The city also runs single-stream curbside recycling for garbage-service subscribers and holds a document shredding event twice a year. Note: during construction of the Boykin Donahue Campus project (expected to finish fall 2026) the drop-off center has temporarily moved to 640 Mary Brooks Drive.

What items are accepted for bulk and yard waste pickup?

Bulk/yard waste (called "trash" in the program) includes appliances, grass clippings, leaves, limbs, furniture, vines, and weeds. It is collected on the same day as your regular garbage pickup and must be placed at the curb separately from your green garbage bin.

What is NOT accepted in the bulk trash collection?

Construction material, dirt, hazardous waste, rocks, and roofing are not accepted as bulk trash.

They moved it about a mile away. Just put in "RecycleAuburn" into the destination box in google maps & it will direct uou to it. It isn't as nice (no greenery or trees) as the old location & I don't see a battery recycling station either. But everything else is there: cardboard glass plastics 1-7 magazines/catalogs cans etc.

I used to love coming here to drop off my recyclables but it seems that it's now closed. I saw a sign before starting a new location but I don't remember the address it said.
