About this center

Three Veterans LLC runs the New Milford Recycling Center on Youngs Field Road as the town's first public/private partnership, with Army veteran Bob Hanna, New Milford's first Recycling Manager, as a principal. The center serves New Milford and Sherman and handles mixed recycling, bulky waste, mattresses, electronics, and textiles, and lists household hazardous waste as a category. A bottle and can redemption center operates on site. It pays by the container for eligible cans from all major retailers, but only containers bought in Connecticut qualify, so redeemers must be Connecticut residents or property owners. Drop-off service and fundraiser assistance are offered. The center is closed Mondays and Wednesdays.

We had some cans and bottles building up and found out New Milford Recycling Center takes ALL your returns. There's a shack onsite with several banks of self return machines (glass plastic cans). For any containers not accepted by the machine the attendant will verify deposit eligibility. They will cash you out and you're on your way! Of course there are other bulk recycling services here and their website details all the relevant fees and procedures. I was happy to see they have free e-waste recycling because who doesn't have a busted printer obsolete monitors or a few old devices they'll never use again just lying around? Parking may be limited and be sure to check the site for updated hours but we had a pretty fluid experience with no issues and we're happy to have a one stop shop for all our returns.

Charge me $10 for dropping off an all metal cooktop as an 'appliance' then put it in the front end loader bucket for metal recycling. So they make money twice. Completely dishonest. Have the town run it again. Please.
