Jeter Recycling Center

The City of Opelika offers two full-service drop-off recycling centers located at 600 8th Avenue and 675 Jeter Avenue. The 8th Avenue center opens on Fridays at 8 a.m. and closes on Tuesdays at 8 a.m., while the Jeter Avenue center operates from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. Accepted items include plastics #1-7, paper, magazines, books (no spiral bound), newspapers, envelopes, paper sacks, packing paper, aluminum cans, metal cans, cardboard, paint (from households only), cooking oil, appliances (washers, dryers, hot water heaters, stoves, refrigerators, freezers), and tires (limit of 8, only from residents). Glass, batteries, and electronics are not accepted at these centers.
