Heman Park Recycling Drop-Off Center

University City runs a 24-hour recycling drop-off center in the north rear parking lot of the Heman Park Community Center at 975 Pennsylvania, open every day. It takes the recyclables the city lists for its blue carts plus textiles: clothes, shoes, towels, linens, rags, curtains, table cloths, and small rugs. The center no longer takes plastic film such as grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, and newspaper bags; the city sends that material to the Schnucks on Olive Boulevard. Light bulbs, batteries, small electronics, and e-scrap go to City Hall on the third floor, not to this lot. Fluorescent tubes are refused.
