Compost Location ~ Sandoval County - Recycling Center in Rio Rancho, NM

Recycling is poorly managed compared to most other facilities. I ended up having to drive 30 miles round-trip to drop my cardboard because I refuse to wait in a long line of vehicles that are there to drop trash. The recycling area should have a separate entrance and not be part of the trash collection area. It's a bummer that in an otherwise well-managed facility that these folks just don't understand how to run the recycling component of it especially for cardboard.

The people here are really nice. Unfortunately the cardboard recycling is challenging. It's in two giant dumpsters that you have to climb extremely unsafe and rickety steps to get to. Given that there's often fierce wind up there on the mesa every time I go I'm worried I'm going to break my neck or slice open a vein on the sharp broken rickety metal stairs while wrestling giant pieces of cardboard. Not safe. I'm looking for someone else I can take my recycling.

The place is a real dump! A lot cheaper than the other hill.
