About This Center

The Westland Recycle Center is a one-stop option for residents to drop off items not suitable for curbside recycling or for those who can't wait for the next pickup day. The center features a solar-powered compactor for single-stream recycling and accepts various items like glass, scrap metal, batteries, cardboard, paper, metal cans, Christmas trees (seasonally undecorated), clothing, plastic jugs, household appliances, and more. Unacceptable items include styrofoam, medical waste, propane tanks, paint cans, household cleaners, medications, electronics, food, and more. The center no longer accepts electronic recycling materials but provides information on hazardous waste disposal through the Wayne County Department of Public Service. Glass (Beverage or food) All types of Scrap meta (Iron steel aluminum etc) Automotive fluid other than ⛽ or Brake fluid Household appliances (refrigerator-doors removed stoves air conditioner etc. Cereal boxes Plastic jugs bottles. Metal cans Metal or wood clothing hangers Electrical cords Gas grills(no tanks) Charcoal grills no Ash or Coal inside. CHRISTMAS 🎄 and only completely undecorated. For the things you can't put in there check website. Check it out. You drive up to dumpsters and drop items in Containers. There are Pictures on signs. 😃
