City of Westland Recycling Center

The Westland Recycle Center is a facility option for residents to drop off items not suitable for curbside recycling or for those who can't wait for the next pickup day. The center features a solar-powered compactor for single-stream recycling and accepts various items like glass, scrap metal, batteries, cardboard, paper, metal cans, Christmas trees (seasonally undecorated), clothing, plastic jugs, household appliances, and more. Unacceptable items include styrofoam, medical waste, propane tanks, paint cans, household cleaners, medications, electronics, food, and more. The center no longer accepts electronic recycling materials but provides information on hazardous waste disposal through the Wayne County Department of Public Service.
