About This Center

The City of Gulf Shores offers comprehensive residential recycling services through Republic Services, including curbside single-stream recycling and a drop-off center for sorted items. Accepted materials for curbside pickup include aluminum cans, cardboard, paper products, plastic jugs, and tin cans, while items with food residue, oil, aerosol, wax, or Styrofoam are not allowed. The drop-off center accepts a wider range of items such as Styrofoam, plastic, paper, aluminum cans, household batteries, glass jars, and scrap metal, but does not accept medical waste, aerosol cans, paint, or tires. Special recycling days are periodically hosted for items like electronics, fluorescent lightbulbs, and paint.
