Do you pay for the silver recovered from x-ray film?
Yes. Payment is per pound of film received. Medical x-rays have two price tiers: one for film still in paper jackets and one for net film removed from jackets.
Is the pickup free?
In 99% of cases, yes — pickup is free nationwide. In rare situations involving very small quantities, a fixed per-state pickup charge may apply.
Do you pick up outside of Florida?
Yes. Pickup is available nationwide, including California, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Alabama, Washington, Georgia, Oregon, and all other states (excluding Alaska), plus Puerto Rico and Hawaii.
What documentation do you provide?
A HIPAA-compliant certificate of destruction is issued for all film, paper jackets, and any other medical records received alongside the film.

I had years worth of xray cat scans and others. I didn't want to just put them in the garbage. I found BW Recycling Inc on line and emailed them. They responded real quick and explained what they do. For a very reasonable price I mailed them to their facility and received an email informing me that they received them. Another email with a certificate stating they were destroyed. Everything was so easy and quick. I highly recommend them to everyone who needs to get rid of their old scans. Worth the peace of mind.
