Bates Recycling is a privately owned scrapyard on Jerry City Road in Cygnet, open since 2005, south of Perrysburg and Bowling Green and north of Findlay. It buys ferrous and non-ferrous metal in detail: clean sheet and cast aluminum, car and semi rims, number 1 and 2 copper, bare bright, burnt wire, yellow, red, and dirty brass, heavy melt iron, drums and rotors, engine blocks, converters, lead, and stainless. Hauling is a core service. Residential sellers cleaning out a barn get a 20, 30, 40, or 60 yard roll-off delivered and picked up, and industrial accounts get flatbed, drop deck, and lowboy service with a 100-ton crane for unloading machinery. The yard also collects junk cars, serves customers in Bowling Green, Toledo, Napoleon, Findlay, and Fostoria, and funds scholarships at local high schools.

Review

We did a fairly large commercial job in the Findlay area and dealt with Bates for the first time. They run a very professional operation. Communication was great unloading was efficient and the yard is the cleanest we've ever come across.

You guys ROCK. First time customer and you all made me feel like I'd been coming out for ever. Fast friendly and had a blast watching the "CLAW" operator. I'll be out again. IF YOU'RE NOT DOING BUSINESS WITH BATES YOU'RE REALLY MISSING OUT!

Review

Waited in line for 2hr. After i finally got paid I asked the lady how late they were taking loads. Told if in line by 4 they will take it. Drove 45 min. Home 45min back. In line by 2:30 and told to leave they not taking anymore loads. What a waste. Poor managment poor decission making a huge joke all around. They just lost a customer for life.
