About This Center

Alachua County's Rural Collection Centers (RCCs) are regional facilities serving residents for recycling, solid waste, yard trash, bulk items, and household hazardous waste disposal. These centers do not accept commercially generated waste and are staffed by Solid Waste and Resource Recovery employees. Accepted items include cardboard, paper, commingled containers, garbage, yard waste, bulk metals, and household hazardous waste like oil filters and electronics. There are load limits and reuse areas available for gently used items. The RCCs operate from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, closed on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, as well as on specific holidays. Carolina C (1/5 stars, a year ago): Horrible women. Spent more time disputing about "who I spoke with" than actually assisting. My collections are Mondays but this was a holiday weekend for some due to July 4th. I realized too late that he trash was being picked up as I saw the blue truck turning the corner. Either way I called desperately requesting for a pick up. Lady 1 said she would relay to GFL. Great. But to not expect anything from it. (Understandable) Then I called again after noon following up. This time Lady 2 answered telling me that if they don't pass by 9PM to try again on Wednesday for a courtesy attempt. So I did. What an error that was. BOTH women spent the entire call arguing with me over which one I spoke to who said what and too busy telling me "it wasn't guaranteed" as it was just a courtesy but with SUCH attitude. Bothered. So why else would I be calling? The entire call was bonkers. Calling to do what these women asked of me for BOTH of them of go off on me over doing what they asked. Complete disgrace. If anything they should [at least] make someone feel assisted. They didn't. You both are horrible women. If you don't like your job go get another. Your misery is palpable and I feel so sorry for you. Good luck.
