ERG Environmental Services accepts household hazardous waste from homeowners at its Livonia facility on Merriman Road, one of only two ERG sites that take it; the other is in Bowling Green, Ohio. Visitors enter from the Industrial Road lot instead of the north driveway, ring the doorbell, and wait in the car while trained staff unload and weigh the drop-off. The accepted list covers paint, solvents, pesticides, motor oil, antifreeze, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, aerosols, propane, needles in rigid containers, mercury devices, and electronics. Tires, yard waste, Styrofoam, explosives, and appliances with freon are refused. Fees follow the resident's community, and RRRASOC communities drop off at no charge. Payment is by credit card or personal check, and hours run Monday through Friday.
