Binford Metals is a full-service scrap metal recycler and auto wrecking yard established in 1973. The recycling drop-off center accepts most metals, from aluminum cans to copper and brass, and buys ferrous and non-ferrous metals including motors, batteries, brake rotors, and wheels, with container pickup and recycling programs available for commercial accounts. Binford Auto Wrecking pays cash for junk, high-mileage, damaged, and wrecked cars, vans, trucks, and SUVs, and offers vehicle pickup within a roughly 10-mile radius. The yard also sells used parts for foreign and domestic vehicles, which customers can pull themselves or call ahead to request.

Most scrap yards buy lead-acid car batteries by the pound or per battery. Auto parts stores usually take them free and may refund a core charge.
Tape the terminals of lithium and 9-volt batteries or bag each one separately. Loose lithium batteries can short and start fires in bins and trucks.
Alkaline batteries are legal to trash in most states, but rechargeable and lithium batteries are not. Recycling all of them is the safe choice.
