About this center

Trans-Cycle Industries of Ohio, operating as TCI of Ohio, opened in Richwood in 2018. The campus at 150 Ira Bean Parkway recycles transformers and other oil-filled electrical equipment for utilities, businesses, and homeowners. Fifty-three employees work at the plant and at customer sites. More than 99 percent of processed material is salvaged for reuse, with no air emissions or wastewater discharges into local water bodies. Accepted units include distribution and network transformers, regulators, substation transformers, oil and SF6 breakers, PILC cable, and drummed oil. Technicians sample oil on site and log serial numbers and gallons. Loads under 50 ppm PCB are drained in Richwood and the oil goes to Hydrodec of North America. Loads over 50 ppm move on to TCI of Alabama. TCI of Ohio is a registered hazardous waste hauler, and drivers complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
