About This Center

Home Chemical & Recycling Centers (HCRCs) are maintained by the Authority at each of the SWA's transfer stations, as well as one on the Jog Road campus, serving as convenient one-stop drop-off sites for both home chemicals and regular recyclable items. These centers accept all types of household hazardous waste with quantity limits possibly applying, providing a responsible disposal option to prevent threats to public safety, the environment, and solid waste infrastructure. Not accepted items include sharps, medical waste, and drugs/medicines, while the HCRCs also offer large recycling drop-off containers for items suitable for curbside recycling. Residents are encouraged to separate household hazardous waste from regular garbage and recycling, with additional options available at big box stores and larger retail chains for specific materials like lithium batteries, CFLs, used oil, cell phones, and electronics.
