Hilltop Recycling
20728 US Hwy 71
Hilltop Recycling has bought scrap metal, vehicles, and machinery in Sanborn for more than 40 years. Insurance-totaled and wrecked cars, junk cars and trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, and ATVs all come in, running or not, and the yard breaks each vehicle down so usable parts go back out as recycled car parts. Stoves, refrigerators, tractors, and other metal farm equipment fit the same buy list as aluminum, copper, brass, iron, steel, and catalytic converters. Businesses with steady scrap volume set up a container program with roll-off containers and dump hoppers in several sizes, reserved for metal only. When a container fills, the crew picks it up and hauls it off. The yard draws customers from across south central Minnesota, including New Ulm, Marshall, Worthington, Mankato, and Willmar, and opens weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
