The City of Norman operates three self-service recycling drop-off centers, including the Hollywood Shopping Center Recycle Center on McGee Drive and Lindsey Street, Westwood Recycle Center at 2430 Westport Drive, and Fire Station 9 Recycle Center located at 3001 E. Alameda Street. These centers accept aluminum, steel, and tin cans, corrugated cardboard, clear/brown/green glass, newspapers, and plastics #1-2 (beverage bottles, milk bottles, shampoo bottles, detergent bottles). The Recycling Center Hub at the City of Norman Transfer Station on 3901 S. Chautauqua also accepts freon-free metal appliances, clean scrap lumber, and chipboard without plastic liners. Materials not accepted include Styrofoam, foil, pie plates, leftover food, Pyrex, certain plastics (oil containers, automotive plastics), and other items like strings, ropes, and medical sharps. The Recycling Center Hub's hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Additionally, clean Styrofoam recycling will soon be available at the Recycling Hub Center.

Blaize Edwards (3/5 stars, a year ago): Norman PD really needs to patrol this area better. There are so many panhandlers and scammers walking around bothering people who just want to do their part to try and save the planet. With all these people walking around though I'm not sure I want to save it anymore.
